Artists    Philip Maher

Philip Maher started working with glass as a glazier in 1988 and was introduced to art glass in 1990. He completed a course in Perth, with Perth Art Glass and learnt how to leadlight panels for doors and windows, later to undertake a few private commissions. In 2000 Philip moved to the South West of WA and attended a fusing course with Alan Morfot and that is when the obsession with warm glass began. Philip also dabbled in hot glass with Alan Fox but decided that kiln formed glass was for him and has over the years subsequent attended many master classes with local and international artists honing his skills and expertise.

Philip has entered his work in many Art Festivals, Art shows and Exhibitions and has won an award for the overall price in the Balingup Art Festival.

Philip likes to work with a medium of mysique, that leads you to wonder how the piece was created and send the mind searching for answers whilst exploring the artwork.

This is a path Philip wants to travel, if for no ather reason than to see what is a the end.
